Syria Kurdish forces integration: Future for female YPJ remains uncertain
For 15 years, Kurdish women of the YPJ fought on Syria’s front lines, notably against ISIL. Now they’re told by the government that Syrian society “isn’t ready” for women in the army, a claim they reject as 979 female fighters killed in combat underscore their sacrifices.
