Syriac Union Party delegation visits Hasakah Deputy Governor

HASAKAH, Gozarto (Jazira) — Amid the developments unfolding in the Gozarto (Jazira) and Syria more broadly, a delegation from the Syriac Union Party (Gabo d’Ḥuyodo Suryoyo, SUP) visited Ahmad Al-Hilali, Deputy Governor of Hasakah to discuss the latest developments.

The delegation included Shamiram Denho, Co-Chair of the SUP in Syria; Siham Qaryo, a member of the party’s General Council; and Afram Ishaq, the party’s head of public relations.

The meeting addressed a range of issues, foremost among them the general situation in the region and current political and service-related developments, as well as the latest updates on the integration process and what has been achieved in this regard.

The SUP delegation also stressed the need to ensure that the Syriac component has its proper role in representation within government institutions in Hasakah Governorate, and called for recognition of Syriac as an official language across all government institutions in the governorate.

The meeting also addressed a number of other points and issues related to the overall situation in the region, as well as ways to follow up on developments and emerging issues in a manner that promotes stability and cooperation among the various parties.

Worth to note that this is not the first visit of its kind. Institutions affiliated with the Beth Nahrin National Council (Mawtbo Umthoyo d’Bethnahrin, MUB) had previously visited Hasakah Governor Noureddine Issa Ahmad following his appointment. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen communication between institutions and coordinate efforts to enhance the region’s security and stability and improve public services in ways that contribute to citizens’ well-being and reflect a spirit of joint cooperation.
