The Tampa Bay Rays picked up the sweep at home with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on  Sunday. The win moves them to 62 wins on the season, the most in the American League.

Here is what you need to know from the contest

It was another solid outing for the entire Rays pitching staff on Sunday, led by Drew Rasmussen, who picked up his ninth win of the season across 87 pitches. Tampa Bay right-hander picked up nine strikeouts and only allowed one hit, the only hit picked up by the Cleveland Guardians in the contest across seven innings.

The win marks Rasmussen's 11th quality start of the season, extending his career high in his seven-year career.

The rest of the bullpen also got the job done following Rasmussen's start. Both Garrett Cleavinger and Bryan Baker had clean innings to get the job done. Baker picked up his 29th save of the season, keeping him second in all of baseball in that stat.

Small Ball for the Win

It was certainly a pitcher's duel on Sunday between the Guardians and the Rays, and only Tampa Bay was able to squeak one by. Thanks to the small-ball approach by Kevin Cash and his crew, Cedric Mullins picked up an RBI from a bunt in the bottom of the fifth inning. Speedy Chandler Simpson came in to score to give the Rays the only run of the game and seal the victory.

Tampa Bay was limited to only six hits in the contest, and they were 1 for 6 with runners in scoring position. Jonathan Aranda got the day off for Tampa Bay, and both Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero once again struggled at the plate. Combined, they went 0 for 8 with one strikeout.

Time to Push the Lead

In games that are meaningful for the Rays, the New York Yankees, who are currently 2.5 games behind for the AL East lead, will face the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:20 PM EST on Sunday Night Baseball.

As for the Rays, they will continue the homestand after a brief day off on Monday. They will be back in action on Tuesday to begin a 3-game series with the Texas Rangers. Griffin Jax (6-7, 3.89 ERA) is set to get the start for Tampa Bay. He will face right-hander Cal Quantrill (3-3, 4.05 ERA) for the Rangers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM EST.
