Texas A&M baseball should pursue USC transfer catcher
On Thursday, Texas A&M coach Michael Earley made a significant staff change, hiring new pitching coach Barry Enright after firing Jason Kelley just days after the Aggies fell to USC in the College Station Regional earlier this month, which was the right move if making it back to the NCAA Tournament is in the cards.
Still, hiring Enright is just the start, and the Aggies need to continue adding talent from the transfer portal, knowing that the program's top three hitters, Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell, and Chris Hacopian, are expected to depart for the 2026 MLB Draft. After landing former TCU infielder Jack Bell and Western Kentucky transfer outfielder/first baseman Lane Arroyos, Earley should pursue one of the latest transfer portal additions.

This past season, Lopez hit .270 with 19 home runs, and under Michael Earley's coaching, his average should rise similarly to Bear Harrison's improvement in his third season. Still, this is all up in the air and will be based on Harrison's decision, while Lopez will be heavily pursued by Big Ten and SEC programs looking for an instant upgrade behind the plate.
