Texas football leading for several 2028 blue-chip prospects
Texas has put together one of the top recruiting class in the 2027 cycle as they currently rank No. 6 in the nation. However, they're diligently going after prospects in the 2028 class as they look to add to four-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence who committed back in June.
As far as adding to Lawrence, the Longhorns have put themselves in a favorable spot to make that happen with several blue-chip recruits in the state of Texas per Sam Spiegelman of Rivals.
"Texas is one of the frontrunners to keep No. 2 interior OL Kendrick Harris in-state. The Longhorns are batting SMU and have made several strong impressions on Harris on visits this spring and summer. They're also in a great position with blue-chip WR Damarion Mays, who has loved his trips to Austin so far. Top-100 EDGE David Dotson is another priority for the Longhorns after the Humble (Texas) Atascocita tore up camp. I like where Texas stands right now with Dotson." - Rivals Analyst Sam Spiegleman
