Texas predicted to land four-star RB Landen Williams-Callis

The Texas Longhorns have been burning up the recruiting trail lately. There's still one huge prize that's still out there, and that's 2027 four-star running back Landen Williams-Callis out of Richmond, Texas.

He recently took an official visit to Texas on June 19. That trip catapulted the Longhorns into a great position when it comes to landing Williams-Callis. According to Sam Spiegelman and Steve Wiltfong of Rivals, Texas is the favorite to get a commitment from Williams-Callis as both have logged predictions in favor of the Longhorns. Spiegelman broke down why this is the case.

Williams-Callis has a fantastic relationship with first-year Longhorns position coach Jabbar Juluke and is excited about the blueprint that Steve Sarkisian and the staff laid out for him in Austin. A well-placed source told Rivals that Texas took a significant step forward this week that changed the trajectory of this recruitment. That intel aligns with colleague Steve Wiltfong, who also likes Texas’ chances in this race down the stretch. With that, we’ve moved our predictions reflecting the Horns’ position right now.

There was a bit on controversy once this was announced on Wednesday. When Josh Newberg of Rivals posted a video of Wiltfong speaking on his prediction that Williams-Callis will choose Texas, the elite prospect said this on social media.

Well, that was certainly spicy. However, there's clearly a misunderstanding here. Wiltfong never mentioned that he talked to Williams-Callis about where he was going to commit. Nonetheless, Texas has clearly gained some major momentum when it comes to the recruitment of the 5-foot-7.5, 190-pounder.

Williams-Callis is listed as the nation's No. 47 overall recruit and the No. 3 running back per Rivals industry rankings. He's also ranked as the No. 6 prospect in Texas.

The Longhorns are aiming to further improve their top-five recruiting class for the 2027 cycle.
