Jones will likely be the first to tell you that just outrunning people is not enough for DI playing time, so the freshman last year got a chance to get into the program, get some reps, and make his presence known in other ways. As we roll into 2026 I don’t think many are forecasting Jones to be a two deep guy this year, but the position group does need some folks to step up and generate some depth beyond the top 2-3 guys, and his elusiveness always makes him a threat in special teams. Always nice to see some guys who played locally help fill in the roster, now we just need to get him on the field.
