At least three people have been killed in Russian attacks across Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday.

Two people were killed and several others were injured in Zaporizhzhya, in southeastern Ukraine, where an apartment building was hit with glide bombs, Zelensky wrote on social media.

He also reported another person killed and two injured in the southern city of Kherson. The Russian military used glide bombs and drones in the attack, he alleged.

Zelensky further reported two people injured in strikes on Odessa on the Black Sea and the surrounding region.

In his social media post, Zelenskyy shared images showing firefighters at the scene, along with burning houses and vehicles. He said it was essential that the European Union adopt its 21st package of sanctions, that Ukraine's partners continue supporting the country, and that weapons be delivered without delay.

In Sumy, in north-eastern Ukraine, the regional civil defence authority said six residents of a multi-storey apartment block were injured in overnight drone attacks. Four were minors.

According to authorities, Russia launched multiple strikes during the night. A major fire broke out at a shopping centre, and subsequent attacks carried out while firefighters were battling the blaze damaged emergency response vehicles.

Russia has been waging its full-scale war against Ukraine for more than four years, with repeated attacks causing widespread destruction and civilian casualties.
