At least four people were killed and dozens more injured in overnight Russian attacks on Ukraine, local authorities reported on Saturday.

A drone strike on a residential area in Zaporizhzhya resulted in the death of a woman and a man, with at least one other person reportedly injured when a residential area was hit.

In Odessa on the Black Sea, at least 35 people, including a five-month-old baby, were injured, according to military governor Oleh Kiper. Two people are still missing, he added.

Images released by the authorities showed a damaged multi-storey residential building.

Elsewhere, Oleksandr Hanzha, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, said that two people were killed in an attack on a factory in the south-eastern Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. Four others were injured in the incident, he said.

The Defence Ministry in Moscow confirmed the attacks. It said that metal industry companies in Zaporizhzhya and Kryvyi Rih, which manufactured products for military purposes, had been targeted.

In the Odessa region, the targets included port infrastructure and a key transport infrastructure facility used for the unloading and storage of military goods, the ministry said. The information cannot be independently verified.

Russia has been waging war against Ukraine for more than four and a half years.
