Thunderbolts re-sign Derek Contessa

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Another day, another signing for the back-to-back President's Cup champions, the Evansville Thunderbolts as they re-signed forward Derek Contessa.

Contessa will return to Evansville for his third season with the champs. The 2025-26 season was a big year for the forward as he scored a career high 15 goals and 27 points during the regular season, good enough for the third highest on the team. The forward then added another two goals and three points in the playoffs.
