The 2026 MLB Draft is here, and it will be a busy two days for FSU's coaching staff.

The Seminoles had a historic showing in last year's draft, setting a new program record with 11 players drafted. It was also the second straight year they had a first-round pick, with the Athletics taking Jamie Arnold with the No. 11 overall pick.

While it is unlikely FSU will match that number, they have several players who are set to hear their name called and start their professional journey. The entire weekend rotation could be drafted, with Wes Mendes having a shot to be taken in the first round, while Trey Beard and Bryson Moore both showed enough with solid junior seasons.

Perhaps the biggest name to watch is Myles Bailey, who was having a sensational sophomore season before an ankle injury cut it short. He has shown plenty in his time at Tallahassee, but with multiple seasons of eligibility remaining, he can afford to be selective and has a shot to return for a third season at FSU.

FSU's high school commits are also eligible to be taken, and several of them have seemingly done enough to entice MLB teams. Infielder Landon Thome is one of the best left-handed hitters in the class and has vaulted himself into first-round consideration, which would likely cause him to sign. Pitcher Kaden Waetcher is the other commit who could hear his name called early and elect to forego college.

Pittsburgh Pirates draft Bryson Moore

FSU's entire weekend rotation has now been taken, with the Pirates taking Bryson Moore with the No. 198 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.

Miami Marlins draft Trey Beard

FSU's first pick of Sunday is starting pitcher Trey Beard, who is getting to stay in Florida. The Marlins took him with the No. 147 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft

Arizona Diamondbacks draft Brayden Dowd

Former FSU outfielder Brayden Dowd has been drafted in the third round of the 2026 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the No. 88 overall pick. He spent one season in Tallahassee.

Chicago Cubs draft Myles Bailey

FSU first baseman Myles Bailey has been drafted by the Chicago Cubs with the No. 75 overall pick. He is the first FSU position player to be drafted.

Houston Astros draft Wes Mendes

As expected, Wes Mendes was the first FSU player to be taken. The Astros took him with the No. 57 pick.

San Francisco Giants draft Kaden Waetcher

Former FSU star Buster Posey and the San Francisco Giants took FSU's top pitching commit with the No. 55 overall pick. He, just like Landon Thome, is unlikely to make it to Tallahassee.

Chicago White Sox draft Landon Thome

FSU shortstop commit Landon Thome has been taken by the Chicago White Sox in with the 34th overall pick in the draft. The pick has a slot value of $2,897,400, and he will have a chance to sign for more than that.

When is the first pick of the 2026 MLB Draft?

The preview show for the draft has started, and the first pick is set to take place around 1:30 p.m. ET, according to MLB Pipeline.

Where to watch the 2026 MLB Draft

The first day of the 2026 MLB Draft can be watched several different ways. The first 10 picks will be broadcast on NBC and streamed on Peacock. Picks 11 through 40 will be broadcast on MLB Network and streamed on MLB.com, MLB.TV, and MLB+. Picks 41 through 135 will be streamed on MLB.com, MLB.TV, and MLB+.

Rounds five through 20 will take place on Sunday, with every pick being streamed on MLB.com, MLB.TV, and MLB+.
