Two Auburn Tigers earn USA Collegiate National Team roster spots

A pair of Auburn Tigers have made the cut and will join USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team roster.

Catcher Chase Fralick and pitcher Jackson Sanders will represent Auburn on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team roster, which was revealed Sunday. The duo earns spots after competing in workouts, practices, and exhibitions over 11 days in Cary, North Carolina.

Fralick was a consistent threat at the plate during exhibition play. He hit for a .333 average over eight games and was one of seven players to log multiple hits and RBI during training camp. Sanders appeared in three games, where he struck out four batters and allowed just two hits during his outings.

The duo will now compete alongside several of college baseball's top performers, including Texas pitcher Luke Harrison, Georgia infielder Kolby Branch, and Arizona State outfielder Landon Hairston. Team USA will be led by Illinois head coach Dan Hartleb, with Arkansas pitching coach Matt Hobbs serving in the same role for the squad.

Fralick and Sanders will now head overseas to play in the World Collegiate Baseball Championship at Taichung City Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung City, Taiwan, from July 11-15. USA Baseball will compete in three pool games before the semifinals and finals begin. The USA will face Korea on July 11 at 11:30 p.m. CT to begin the championship, and will also face Chinese Taipei and Japan.
