Two executed in Iran accused of spying for Israel

The two had passed on coordinates and photographs of sensitive military and security sites to "channels linked to Israel's Mossad intelligence service" during the war with the US and Israel, Mizan reported. The country's Supreme Court had approved the death sentences, it said.
The human rights organization Hengaw questioned the allegations against the men, given the extensive internet shutdowns during the conflict and the lack of publicly verifiable evidence.
AdvertisementAdvertisementIt said the arrests, prosecution and executions had taken place behind closed doors and without independent legal review. The "confessions" broadcast on state television were forced under torture, it said.
