Two-way dynamo Ellie Masera powers California’s midfield ‘Horses’

After the California Palms dropped their season opener in a gut-wrenching overtime defeat to the Maryland Charm, Ellie Masera was compelled to call her head coach.

Despite netting four goals in the May 29 matchup in Baltimore, Masera felt her performance left plenty of room for improvement. As she and her California teammates navigated the jump from the Sixes format to 10v10 play, Masera drew up a list of items to discuss with Palms coach Maddy Buss.
