The UCLA Bruins have seen their student-athletes represent their country this offseason. Not only has Eric Dailey Jr. played for Team USA, UCLA baseball and softball have both seen their players selected to join Team USA.

UCLA baseball found out on Sunday that two Bruin pitchers, Easton Hawk and Wylan Moss, were selected to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team roster. Hawk and Moss will pitch at the first-ever World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taichung City, Taiwan this month.

The World Collegiate Baseball Championship will begin this upcoming Saturday and will run through Wednesday, July 15th. UCLA is one of six schools (Vanderbilt, Oregon, Mississippi State, Florida, Auburn and the Bruins) to have multiple players selected to the team, with the Florida Gators being the only school with three players selected.

Both relievers were outstanding for the Bruins this year. Hawk served as the team’s closer, picking up 14 saves while posting a 1.93 earned run average over 42 innings this season. Moss had a 2.49 ERA in 65 innings, with Moss taking over as a starter later in the season for UCLA.

UCLA softball saw infielder Aleena Garcia chosen to the U.S. Women's National Team Program for this year’s World Baseball Softball Confederation World Cup Group Stage Event and the USA Softball International Cup.

Garcia joins several other former Bruins on the team, including record-setting slugger Megan Grant. Garcia gets the nod after a very strong sophomore season, where she batted .358 with 22 home runs and drove in 69 runs.
