UK consulate removes signage after Israeli deadline to close

Workers removed signage from the British Consulate in East Jerusalem overnight after a deadline set by Israel to close the mission passed on October 8. Israel ordered the consulate to close after Britain announced plans to impose sanctions on West Bank settlements. British foreign minister Ed Miliband said the mission would remain open and operational, serving Palestinians despite the Israeli closure order. ⠀ #jerusalem #israel #UK #burnham #netanyahu
