Ukraine has again targeted Russia's largest online retailer Wildberries, launching strikes on logistics centres, authorities said on Wednesday.

Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim wrote on Telegram on Wednesday morning that the strikes had hit logistics centres in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk in southern Russia. Unverified footage purporting to show large fires circulated on social media.

The governor of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, reported that one person had been killed in an attack on an oil depot in Armavir. He added that 10 people had been injured in the attack on the Wildberries warehouse in Krasnodar. Earlier reports had mentioned three people injured.

The governor of the Stavropol region, Vladimir Vladimirov, said five people had been injured in the fire in Nevinnomyssk.

The newspaper Kommersant reported, citing expert estimates, that around 7% of Wildberries' storage capacity was now unusable.

Zelensky praises attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again justified the attacks as part of Kiev's defensive campaign against Russia's full-scale invasion, which has been ongoing since February 2022.

He wrote on social media that the strikes had targeted "logistics hubs involved in supplying the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment, and other gear - as well as another oil depot."

A tanker and four cargo ships were also hit in the Black Sea and the neighbouring Sea of Azov, Zelensky said.

He thanked the armed forces "for these results," saying Ukraine was "quite justly, bringing the war back home - to Russia."

Kremlin accuses Ukraine of attacking civilian facilities

Ukraine had already set fire to Wildberries logistics centres in the Moscow region and in the Tambov region a few days ago. A total of eight people were killed and dozens injured in those strikes.

Russian investigators then accused Ukraine of targeting civilian facilities in what they called terrorist attacks. Russia has also struck logistics centres in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that the situation was not easy for the retailer and its customers. Many small and medium-sized businesses rent space in the logistics centres to store their goods; a number of them now fear for their survival.

Zelensky claimed that goods that are subject to Western sanctions and could be used for both civilian and military purposes were stored in Wildberries warehouses.

Russian commentators said Ukraine was trying to stoke opposition to the war among the Russian public.

Kremlin spokesman Peskov denied that Wildberries logistics hubs were being used to supply the Russian military. "The Kiev regime continues its strikes against civilian targets - that is the terrorist nature of the Kiev regime," he said.
