UNH hockey team to open home slate with Michigan State

The University of New Hampshire hockey team will open its 2026-27 home schedule with Michigan State.

The Wildcats' schedule, announced Friday night, features 19 home games, starting with the Spartans on Oct. 23-24. Michigan State advanced the NCAA Worcester Reginal final last season before falling to Wisconsin in overtime.

UNH and MSU played last season in East Lansing, splitting a pair of games to open the season. The coming year will mark the Spartans' third-ever trip to Durham.

UNH's schedule also includes the return of Hockey East rival Maine to the Whittemore Center, on Dec. 4-5. The teams played only twice last season, and both of those games were in Orono. They play only twice again this season.

The Wildcats will visit Granite State rival Dartmouth on Sunday, Dec. 13, in Hanover.
