Video! UFC Vet-Turned Cop Slams Perp During Traffic Stop

Mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Marlon Moraes starting patrolling the streets of South Florida as a cop earlier this year and he's already making his presence known.

Moraes, 38, originally made a name for himself after winning the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) bantamweight championship back in 2014 and then defending it five successful times. That landed Moraes a UFC contract in 2017, but the talented fighter never quite lived up to his hype. Moraes certainly had his moments — including fighting Henry Cejudo for the vacant UFC bantamweight title in 2019 — but ended his UFC career on a four-fight losing streak. The Brazilian fighter tried his hand outside of UFC, but he went 0-3 under the Professional Fighters League (PFL) banner.
