Our All-Scholastic teams for high school spring sports are in the works.
We need your help before they publish. As we've done in the fall and winter seasons, our readers will have a say in who wins player of the year honors in each sport. The list of South Shore rugby talent has been trimmed down to an even more exclusive, best-of-the-best bunch, ranging from All-Americans to record-holders to state champs.

Reader votes will make up 20% of the tally, with our four staff reporters (Chris McDaniel, Eric McHugh, Ryan Vermette and Jason Snow) making up the rest of the vote.

BC High rugby claims third consecutive MIAA title
Lucas Almeida, Hanover boys
Sophomore fullback/fly half led the Hawks to their second consecutive Div. 2 state championship. ... Had three conversion kicks in a 26-17 win over Brookline in the state final. ... "Lucas has emerged as a key player for us and as a strong leader on and off the field," said Hanover coach Andrew McLean.

Senior center was a two-year captain. ... Collins was the Wildcats leading scorer each of the past two seasons. ... Also led Milton in yards gained and tackles in the back line. ... Led Milton to a 7-2 record and a Div. 1 state championship appearance. ... "His fierce level of competition was infectious from starting to finishing whistle," said Milton coach Joe Dolan.
Michael Conley, BC High boys
Senior led the Eagles in tries with 12. ... Scored two tries in the Div. 1 state championship as the Eagles repeated as champs. ... Led forwards in meters made and was second on the team in defenders beaten. ... Two-year starter will attend Fordham in the fall. ... "His athleticism was on full display as he was almost always able to beat the first defender with the ball in hand," said BC High coach Paul Carty.

Junior captain tallied 10 tries and 1 conversion this spring. ... Stands at an imposing 6-1 and 260 pounds. ... Three-year varsity player threw the Rams lineouts with a 90% success rate. ... Patriot League All-Star on the wrestling team and will captain the football team in the fall. ... "He has a rare combination of size and speed that makes him a scoring threat every time he touches the ball," said Marshfield coach Matt Pomella.
Colin Gerhart, Hingham/Norwell boys
Flanker from Norwell led the team in tries. ... Also finished second in tackles. ... Helped Hingham/Norwell win the CRC Small title and finish undefeated in the regular season.

Senior scrum half was two-year captain. ... CRC All-Star led the Warriors to their first-ever state-tournament win. ... "Cole was a great leader on the field. He always made the correct decision with the ball in his hands. On defense, he was one of our quickest players to the tackle," said Blue Hills coach Ryan Kiff.
Nicole Moraes, Weymouth girls
Inside center was one Weymouth's leading tacklers and try scorers. ... Averaged 15 tackles and 2.5 tries per game. ... Two-year varsity player helped Wildcats reach the state championship this spring. ... "She was the heart and attitude of our team," said Weymouth coach Matt Amonte.
