Two weeks into the Texas high school football season, several Wichita Falls-area players continue to turn in standout performances. Week 2 featured several big nights from quarterbacks as multiple area teams remained unbeaten.
We narrowed the field to four candidates for Wichita Falls-area Athlete of the Week. Coaching staffs in and around the area can send nominations by 5 p.m. Sunday to sports@timesrecordnews.com.

Hodges threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns while adding 30 rushing yards in Legacy's 56-16 win over Fort Worth Eastern Hills. The junior quarterback helped the Leopards improve to 2-0 for the first time in the program's three-year varsity history, with Legacy already matching its win total from the previous two seasons combined.
Belcher completed 21-of-31 passes for 323 yards and five touchdowns in Windthorst's 48-14 win over City View. He also rushed eight times for 30 yards. Belcher has thrown for 641 yards and nine touchdowns through two games while helping the No. 7 Trojans open the season 2-0.
Richey accounted for seven touchdowns as Bowie rolled past Bridgeport 54-6 to improve to 2-0. Richey entered the season as one of Bowie's top returning receivers after recording 835 receiving yards and nine touchdowns last year, but moved to quarterback after projected starter Bryton Horton suffered a collarbone injury during the preseason.
Wesson accounted for 290 yards and four touchdowns in Jacksboro's 48-24 win over Boyd. He completed 7-of-17 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 13 times for 149 yards and two more scores, helping the Tigers stay undefeated.
