Washington basketball eyeing four-star Florida power forward

As Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies continue to search for reinforcements from the high school level in the 2027 class, four-star power forward Jeremy Jenkins is an intriguing name to keep an eye on.

The 6-foot-9, 245-pound product of Riviera Preparatory School in Miami, Florida, is ranked as the No. 52 overall prospect and No. 8 power forward in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, and holds 24 offers from all over the country.

In June, Jenkins cut that list down to a top ten of Dayton, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, North Carolina State, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Washington, West Virginia, and Xavier, and has an official visit set with the Yellow Jackets for August 2. However, on Wednesday, he told 247Sports' Dushawn London (subscription required) that he's still open to all suitors as his recruitment carries on.

"Jeremy Jenkins is a physical specimen," Rivals' Jamie Shaw wrote in a scouting report from the NBPA Top-100 Camp.

"He bullied his way to consistent production in his second game of the day, rebounding the ball and finishing at the front of the rim. There is not a ton of wiggle in his game, but he gets downhill with a purpose and showed some passing abilities. He also knocked down the two free throws that sealed the win for his team. He’s someone who simply competes.”

As the Huskies continue to look for their first pledge in the 2027 class, Jenkins is an intriguing name to watch while Sprinkle's staff continues to set official visits. Washington has already hosted five-star center Darius Wabbington and will host his teammate, five-star power forward Ahmed Nur, in September, as the program looks to continue to compete physically in the Big Ten after losing star forward Hannes Steinbach to the NBA draft.
