The MLB Draft was ongoing this past weekend, giving prep players the opportunity to hear their names called, and prepare for the next level of the sport.

After Michigan State saw pitcher Nolan Higgins get selected in the fifth round of the MLB Draft, a second Spartan came off of the board in the tenth round of the draft. In the tenth round, the Washington Nationals selected Nick Williams, using the No. 286 overall selection.

A native of Racine, Wisconsin, after starting his college career at Wabash Community College, Williams spent his final three years in East Lansing. In his MSU career, Williams played in 153 games, where he carried a .304 batting average and a .917 OPS.
