Weather forces more delays at TSSAA track state championships
Field events in Class AAA resume at TSSAA track state championships after rain delay
KNOXVILLE — The TSSAA track and field state championships have resumed following a weather delay on May 21.
All field events are either warming up or back in official competition, including boys high jump and pole vault, girls long jump and boys unified shot put. The last day of the state championships features schools from Class AAA classifications at Tennessee's Tom Black Track.
The field events went on a brief delay after heavy rains poured into the Knoxville area. The weather forced significant delays in both pole vault events, which were scheduled for the morning. The running events are still on pace to begin at 4 p.m. ET with the mixed 4x400-meter relay.
