What did you think of the All-Star Game?
The Midsummer Classic has come and passed. There is much baseball left to play, much drama left to wring from it. But the long-awaited celebration of baseball, of America’s 250th, and of Philadelphia’s intersection with both, is over. The game was a low-scoring, strikeout heavy affair that ended in defeat for our Senior Circuit’s stars. The pageantry was patriotic and nostalgic, with the Phanatic in his finest colonial gear. Some opinions on the event will be unanimous among TGPers— I’m sure we’d have all loved to see a National League victory, and a dinger or two from our All-Stars. But other opinions may vary.
