White Sox Rookie Tristan Peters Named American League All-Star
Sam PhalenSat, Jul 11, 2026·2 min readOne day after hitting for the cycle against the Athletics, Chicago White Sox outfielder Tristan Peters has been named an American League All-Star.
Peters joins White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas and first baseman Munetaka Murakami as the team’s representatives in the Midsummer Classic. It’s both an incredible story and a well-deserved honor for the 26-year-old rookie.

He had just 12 career at-bats in Major League Baseball and had not recorded a single MLB hit. But he fought his way onto Chicago’s Opening Day roster and has been making the most of his opportunity ever since.
In 89 games and 244 at-bats this season, Peters is batting .303 with six home runs, 35 RBIs, five stolen bases, and an .841 OPS. He has also played tremendous defense while roaming center field, and his 2.9 fWAR this season is tied for the lead among American League outfielders.
So believe it or not, yes, Peters is incredibly deserving. He has played like an All-Star, and now he is being honored as one. He replaces Nick Kurtz on the roster and will be headed to Philadelphia.
You truly can’t tell the story of the 2026 White Sox without talking about Tristan Peters. This team is defying expectations, and there weren’t many who saw this type of success coming for the White Sox so soon. But a major reason they have been successful is the emergence of unsung heroes like Peters, who have helped the team win on a daily basis.

Getting Peters for nothing more than cash considerations is one of the finest moves Chris Getz has made during his tenure as GM.
The White Sox have been stuck in a stretch of sending just one representative to the All-Star Game. The last time multiple White Sox players went to the Midsummer Classic was in 2022. But now, three of Chicago’s finest will receive the lifelong distinction of being All-Stars. And for all three White Sox representatives, Peters, Vargas, and Murakami, it is their first career All-Star selection.
Peters will likely be in attendance for the Home Run Derby on Monday to support his teammate Munetaka Murakami, and the MLB All-Star Game will begin at 7 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, July 14 from Citizens Bank Park.
