White Sox Weekly July 6-19, 2026

Before the White Sox could get to a well-deserved All-Star break, there were two home series left to tackle. The Boston Red Sox came to Chicago after sweeping the Angels on the road, with a record of 40-48. As of Sunday, July 19, the East Coast squad has won 13 games in a row and the South Siders were standing right in the path of destruction. Chicago had been coming off their first winning road trip since April 17-23.

Naturally, the White Sox got swept. Over the three-game set the offense scored a total of two runs to Boston's 15. Needless to say, Chicago never stood a chance. Two of the three visiting starters recorded quality starts while the home team's longest outing was by Anthony Kay, who went 5 1/3 innings in the series finale. He gave up two runs on four hits, two walks, and four strikeouts, but when the hitting can't get a single thing going that will only be enough to earn a loss.
