It has been 86 days since Garrett Crochet last took the mound for the Boston Red Sox, and it doesn't look like his return is going to come anytime soon. The 2025 Cy Young Award runner-up spoke on Tuesday afternoon about whether or not he will return from the left shoulder strain that has kept him on the injured list since April 27, giving a less-than-encouraging answer. 

The latest on Crochet's injury

In the weeks leading up to the All-Star break, Crochet had begun throwing a plyo ball as the first step toward ramping things back up. However, interim manager Chad Tracy told reporters coming out of the break that Crochet was not throwing at all.
