Will Newcastle's CEO adjust 2030 goal?

BBC Sport's Newcastle United reporter Ciaran Kelly says there is "going to have to be a change" in chief executive David Hopkinson's aim to be "in the debate about being the top club in the world" by 2030 amid a summer of turmoil at St James' Park.

The bold five-year vision for the Magpies to become "perennial contenders" competing for the biggest prizes in the game was set out in December 2025, but key men Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon have already departed this summer and captain Bruno Guimaraes looks likely to follow suit.
