Yankees-Dodgers rained out, rescheduled for split doubleheader Sunday

NEW YORK — Saturday night’s game between the Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers was rained out, setting up a split-admission doubleheader on Sunday in the Bronx.

The first game is scheduled to start at 12:35 p.m. and air on YES Network. The second game remains scheduled for 7:20 p.m. and will air on NBC/Peacock.

Cam Schlittler (9-5, 2.05 ERA) is set to start the first game for the Yankees, while Yoshinobu Yamamoto (9-6, 2.85 ERA) is scheduled to pitch for the Dodgers.

That matchup of All-Star right-handers was originally lined up for Sunday night, before the postponement changed both teams’ plans.

Neither the Yankees nor the Dodgers announced their starter for Sunday’s nightcap.

Yankees left-hander Ryan Weathers (3-7, 4.15 ERA) had been scheduled to start Saturday opposite Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan.

This is the Dodgers’ only trip to the Bronx this season, though they are set to return to New York next weekend for a three-game series against the Mets.

The Yankees and Dodgers have a mutual off-day on Thursday but will play two on Sunday instead.

The postponement was due to inclement weather in the forecast. The decision followed steady rain for much of Saturday, which prompted a flash flood warning in New York.

Tickets for Saturday night’s game can be used for the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader — not the second — or can be exchanged for a similar regular-season game, the Yankees said.
