Zambia vote count suspension sparks fears of election rigging
Vote counting in Zambia's general elections was suspended on Friday, then restarted hours later after the electoral commission said the security threat to the process had been contained. Election observer missions monitoring the vote have responded. The head of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission, Samuel Tembenu, said the mission was not in a position to observe the counting and collation of results during the suspension, and urged all contestants and stakeholders to remain calm.
